During my undergraduate studies at California College of the Arts I've taken a deeper dive into finding my Afro-Caribbean roots. Studying about Black Atlantic and the impact  slavery had around Caribbean territories inspired me to think critically about the history of my people. "Carnival" celebrates the power of indigenous people breaking through shackles to remind us about our rich cultures.
